Germain is the founder of Take It To The Court Foundation (TITTCF).
TITTC is a non-profit organization designed to bring awareness to the violence that takes place in black and brown communities.
In 2014, Germain began organizing basketball tournaments for youth and young adults nationally. These tournaments helped bring the community together, bring awareness to the violence in the community he serves, and provide resources and outlets for those facing these challenges.
Germain obtained his paralegal certification at Pace University of NYC in 2016. He has an extensive background working in the community as a community organizer for the Legal Aid Society for approximately nine years. During his time with the Legal Aid Society, he built relationships within the community, working alongside city council constituents and creating connections with many different organizations that work together to help community members.
Ruth worked within her community with the youth in her church and mentored many. She taught dance, singing and helped with the operations of church events. Ruth, at the same time, started working for non-profit companies where she was a counselor, a manager and internal auditor/investigator for people with Developmental Disabilities. She transitioned her skills and experiences and started working within the hospital setting. There she provided support to the operations of the Psychiatric Department and Laboratory Department. Ruth continues to involve herself and help within her community and companies as her passion is to support and make a difference in this world.
Tatiana is an anti-carceral advocate working to build political equity for Black communities. She is a New York-based community organizer working to build political power with and for marginalized Black people, especially as it relates to ending mass incarceration and the systems that perpetuate it. Her advocacy work started as a labor organizer. She is one of the two original organizers that created the first union in any Verizon Wireless store in the country. Tatiana has worked as a constituent advocate for the progressive Senator Jabari Brisport. Hill previously worked with
VOCAL-NY, a grassroots power building organization where she organized and advocated for formerly incarcerated people in its Civil Rights Union. She was also a director of advocacy helping to frame and build out an organizing model for organizing and base building.
Josmar is our Queens community organizer. He was previously the Deputy Director of the Police Reform Organizing Project and lead organizer with The Policing & Social Justice Project at Brooklyn College. He has written and organized around issues of policing, education, and housing.
Mauricia is a Brooklyn native and a mother of three. She has been directly impacted by a loved one's incarceration, and her lived experiences have created an intense passion that has led her to community organizing and building. Mauricia is dedicated to educating the community and creating an environment where their voices are heard.
Damon is a New York City-based community organizer. While attending Columbia University, he was a lead organizer in the successful Prison Divest campaign and won the Ralph Johnson Bunche award for his research on 2015 fatal police encounters. Upon completion of his studies, he served as a community researcher in collaboration with the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice, seeking to better understand barriers preventing NYC community members from clearing low-level bench warrants. Damon brings a unique combination of personal experience and data collection and analysis to his organizing work.
Mathilda is a dedicated professional with a strong background in social services, community engagement, and leadership development. She is experienced in case management, program administration, and advocacy within marginalized communities. Skilled in empowering individuals and fostering resilience, Mathilda's commitment to social justice and community development shines through her work, consistently driving positive change and addressing disparities.
For over three years, Erica has been honing her skills in social media marketing and management. She has a passion for educating and spreading awareness on important issues. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, which has equipped her with the ability to understand others and effectively connect with diverse audiences. Her goal is to create impactful social media strategies that engage and promote social change. As a New York City native, she is dedicated to creating a better future for our community, particularly regarding policing reform, one post at a time!
