We organize outreach efforts throughout New York City, including tabling and distributing information at local community and civic events, especially in neighborhoods most impacted by policing.
One of our main priorities is to educate the community. We host info-sessions and Community Conversations to teach and update the public about the Federal Monitor overseeing the NYPD, the police department's trespass enforcement, and stop-and-frisk policies.
Our team collects feedback from New Yorkers about their views and experiences with how the NYPD conducts stop-and-frisk and trespass enforcement, and we report it back to the Federal Monitor, Mylan Denerstein.

The Federal Monitor releases an annual report that evaluates
the NYPD's compliance with court orders, analyzing their progress and
identifying areas for improvement. These data-driven reports are essential to
stay informed about the state of policing in our city.
"NST officers had reasonable suspicion for only 73% of the frisks assessed and had a legal basis for only 63% of the searches assessed."
"Of 230 car stops, two resulted in the recovery of weapons, while another two recovered contraband that the Monitor team was unable to identify."
